Deputy director of Ministry of Health Malaysia said vaccine for mosquito disease still not be available for the next 5 to 10 years. Public needs to be more alert to cut down of mosquito breeding. Singapore and Vietnam now is working hard to develop vaccine to cure mosquito disease.
He mentioned, if we manage to develop vaccine, we need to do more testing on effectiveness and safeness before release officially so in short period of time, vaccine is impossible to be developed.
He also mentioned, in our country, Malaysia, has now reported 26446 cases of Dengue Fever this year and causing 64 people died, among of them, 64% of reported Dengue Fever and 74% of high risk mosquito breeding area is in Klang river.
With the effort of Ministry of Health, Dengue Fever has been successfully been cut down for the past 3 weeks and we have set a 7 strategies to cut down Dengue Fever start from now to the year of 2013.
He finally mentioned, Dengue Fever is affecting 25 billion people worldwide especially in Africa, South of America, Middle East, South East Asia and Asia Pacific country.

Speaker form Ministry of Health said, Dengue Fever has increased but Chikungunya is dropped for the pass one week.
Kuala Lumpur is reported 749 cases in total and Kelantan is reported 2 deaths of Dengue Fever. 5 states in Malaysia has increase of Dengue Fever is Perlis (57%), Malacca (36%), Kuala Lumpur and Putra Jaya (34%), Penang (30%) and Kedah (15%).
First 25 weeks in this year has accumulating the total of 24534 cases with 62 deaths of Dengue Fever compare to last year was 20721 cases with 45 deaths. Until 27 June 2009, Malaysia has detected 33 high risk areas where 27 is in Selangor, 1 in Johor, 5 in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. But for Chikungunya cases is dropped where only 2836 cases reported compare to last year was 4271.

5 person died of dengue fever last week
Speaker from Ministry of Health said, 5 person died of dengue fever last week, 4 person from Selangor and 1 from Kuala Lumpur.
There are 874 dengue fever case reported last week, he said dengue fever had increase in 8 states in Malaysia which is Kedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Johor, Sabah, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Perak. Until today the total of dengue fever reported are 19275 cases. Malaysia has 63 high risk areas whereby 57 areas are in Selangor, 4 areas in Kuala Lumpur and 2 areas in Johor.
On top of that, there are 15 cases Chikungunya reported last week where the total has increase to 96 cases today, most of the Chikungunya reported in Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Sarawak.

240 cases Dengue Fever reported within first week in Singapore
240 cases Dengue Fever reported within first week of this year in Singapore. This is 2 times of last year statistic. Although only 131 cases at 2nd week but the first 2 weeks statistic has increase 57% if compare to last year. Dengue Fever spreads seriously at Boon Lay and Woodlands area.
1600 cases of mosquito disease in 7 days
There are 1600 cases of Dengue Fever and Chikungunya reported within the first 7 days in this year whereby Selangor detected with the most cases. Minister of Health said, most of the mosquito disease detected at residence area, one of the factor for mosquito breeding is due to raining day since last year. He advised to those who have fever have to get doctor treatment immediately. Ministry of Health has carry on mosquito fogging and gotong royong at affected area to control mosquito breeding, on top of that, minister of health also transmits information of mosquito prevention and danger of mosquito disease through media to all people.

Chikungunya has expanded to 6 states in Malaysia
Chikungunya has expanded to Johor, Malacca, N.Sembilan, Perak, Selangor and Pahang. Til today, total case reported for Chikungunya is 3200 cases and for Dengue Fever is 38000 cases up to Oct this year. Ministry of Health has been taking action to control disease infection. Minister of Health said, these two diseases are transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, so to control the disease, we have to prevent mosquitoes breeding. He also said Health authority for all places must always organise 'gotong royong' and 'mosquito fogging' to control mosquito. On top of that, Health authority is organising seminar to bring awareness of mosquito disease and how to prevent mosquito to public. He also stated if anyone gets symptoms like fever has to get doctor treatment immediately.
3 deaths of Dengue Fever in Selangor
Speaker of Ministry of Health said that, last week there are 1071 cases reported with 3 deaths of Dengue Fever, 3 deaths reported in Selangor state. On top of that, 84 cases of Chikungunya also reported at the same time and overall has increase to 3399 cases with no death reported for Chikungunya. For Dengue Fever, cases increase to 103 just in one week when compare to 2 weeks ago statistics. Until today, death of Dengue Fever has increase to 90 cases and overall is 41034 cases for this year.
Minister suspects Dengue hospitalised
One of the Minister gets hospitalised suspects infected in Dengue Fever after she felt weak and having low blood pressure condition. She is a parliament member for Perak Darul Ridzuan, she gets hospitalised at Kuala Lumpur General Hospital for few days for further medical check up and inspection. She said, she will go back to work after medical report is out.
